The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation and RUFORUM, is proud to announce the 2026/2027 scholarship applications under the TAGDev 2.0 Programme. This 10-year initiative (2023–2033) is dedicated to transforming African agricultural universities to drive inclusive, climate-resilient growth.

Eligibility Requirements

General Criteria

• Nationality: Must be a Nigerian national or a refugee/IDP resident in Nigeria.
• Background: Must be from an economically disadvantaged or marginalized community.
• Leadership: Must demonstrate leadership qualities and a strong commitment to community service and agricultural value chains.
• Academic Timing: Undergraduates must have completed secondary school within the last two years (four years for refugees).

Age Limits (at time of application)

At the time of application;

• Standard applicants must be under 25 years (Undergraduate) | Under 30 years (Masters).
• Refugees/IDPs must be under 30 years (Undergraduate) | Under 35 years (Masters).

Academic Requirements

For Undergraduate Candidates

• O-Levels: 5 credits in GCE/SSCE/NECO (Mathematics, English, Chemistry, Biology/Agric Science, and one of Physics/Economics/Geography) in max 2 sittings.
• UTME: Must pass the UTME with relevant subjects and choose UNIPORT as the first-choice institution.
• Screening: Must pass the UNIPORT Post-UTME.

For Postgraduate Candidates

• Degree: A minimum of a Second-Class Honours (Upper Division) degree in a relevant discipline.
• Foundations: Credit passes in English and Mathematics at O-Level.
• Documents: Ready to submit degree certificates, NYSC discharge certificate, and a research interest statement.

How to Apply for University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) Mastercard Scholarship 2026

2. Fill-in the Google form using the following Link
3. Apply for undergraduate or postgraduate admission at the University of Port Harcourt
4. Visit the RUFORUM scholarship portal and complete the initial Google screening form
5. Navigate to the “Scholarship Calls” section on the RUFORUM site
6. Select Call ID: RU/2026/TAGDev-2.0/001
7. Complete the Mastercard RUFORUM scholarship application
8. Once submitted, download and print the completed scholarship form
9. Attach the form to your admission documents and submit them via the university’s online portal or in hard copy as directed
