Internship Responsibilities
The selected intern will work full-time (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) and handle the following business functions:
- Shipment Tracking: Maintain and update end-to-end shipment trackers, ensuring every operational metric from origin to destination delivery is captured accurately.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise directly with third-party clearing agents, global suppliers, commercial banks, and logistics partners to fast-track shipping documentation.
- Pre-arrival Compliance: Ensure all essential shipping permits, custom certificates, and invoices are compiled and verified at least 5 days prior to vessel arrivals.
- Risk Management: Monitor ongoing shipment timelines, flagging potential supply chain bottlenecks or supplier delays to prevent corporate demurrage charges.
- Financial Administration: Support container bond deposits, financial tracker postings, and system updates as required by the ImpEx division.
Eligibility Criteria
To pass the preliminary screening checks for the Unilever Future-X internship, candidates must fulfill these parameters:
- Must be currently serving in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program or have recently completed their service year.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other core MS Office packages for corporate data analytics.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills, and structured organizational capacity.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to process multiple high-priority timelines independently.
- Must be fully available to commit to the strict 1-year full-time corporate work model at the designated headquarters.
