Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for a British Council teaching scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Hold (or be predicted to earn) at least a 2:1 Bachelor of Honours degree, a Master’s degree, or a PhD (or recognized international equivalent).
- Your degree should ideally be in French, German, or Spanish.
- Applicants with a 2:2 degree or a degree in an unrelated subject may still be considered if they can prove significant, advanced oral and written knowledge of their target language.
- You must secure a confirmed placement on an eligible, non-salaried graduate teacher training scheme in England that leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for the 2026/2027 academic year.
