Benefits of Charles Darwin University RTP Scholarship 2027
Australian Government RTP Stipend Scholarships are awarded to students of exceptional research potential to undertake an HDR at an Australian university.
The scholarships are provided to assist with general living costs for three years full-time for a doctoral degree and two years for a research Master’s degree:
- AU$35,489 (2026/2027 rate) per annum tax-free for full-time students, paid in fortnightly instalments.
- AU$17,744.50 (2026/2027 rate) per annum, taxable, for part-time students, paid in fortnightly instalments.
- Paid sick leave
- Maternity leave
- Up to $2,000 for domestic students and $2,500 for international students for relocation

Eligibility Requirements for Charles Darwin University Scholarship 2027
To be considered for the Charles Darwin University Scholarship, you must:
- Be enrolled in or applying for an accredited HDR course of study at an Australian Higher Education Provider (HEP) such as CDU.
- Demonstrate exceptional research potential to undertake an HDR (Higher Degree by Research).
- Meet the academic and entry requirements for your chosen Master by Research or PhD program.
- Must not receive income from another source to support your general living costs while enrolled in a course of study if that income is greater than 75% of the RTP stipend rate.
