Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the 2026 cycle, students and parents must meet the following criteria:

  • The parent/guardian must have lived in Georgia for at least one full year.
  • Public School Enrollment:
    • The student must have been enrolled in a Georgia public school for two consecutive semesters, OR
    • The student must be a rising kindergarten student.
  • The student must reside in the attendance zone of a public school performing in the bottom 25% statewide.
  • Families earning ≤400% of the Federal Poverty Level are given priority if applications exceed the state’s budget.
  • To receive funds, the student must withdraw from the public school system.

Rules & Restrictions

  • You cannot combine this with the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship or Student Scholarship Organization (SSO) awards.
  • Students remain eligible until they turn 20 (or 21 for those in special education programs).
  • Students using the scholarship must participate in annual standardized testing to remain eligible for renewal.
