50,000 Southeast Students to Benefit from Free 2027 JAMB Registration

President Bola Tinubu, under his Renewed Hope Agenda, on Tuesday introduced a free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration programme for 50,000 students across Nigeria’s Southeast region.

The initiative will support 10,000 prospective candidates in each state, with every beneficiary receiving ₦8,500 to cover registration fees for the 2027 JAMB examination.

The programme was officially launched in Enugu by the National Coordinator of the Southeast Renewed Hope Agenda, Belusochukwu Enwerem, who described the effort as part of the president’s broader commitment to quality education and youth empowerment.

Speaking at the event, Enwerem said the occasion represented more than a formal launch, calling it a movement of hope and empowerment that affirms that financial limitations should not define the future of students in Enugu State.

He emphasized that education remains the strongest foundation for sustainable development, describing the programme as a deliberate investment in thousands of future professionals including doctors, engineers, lawyers, teachers, entrepreneurs, innovators, and national leaders.

According to him, the initiative goes beyond charity, positioning it instead as strategic empowerment aligned with the Renewed Hope vision of youth inclusion, improved access to education, and long-term human capital development.

“When we educate our youths, we secure our economy. When we empower our students, we strengthen our nation,” he added.

Enwerem also urged beneficiaries to approach the opportunity with discipline, determination, and excellence while preparing seriously for their examinations. Addressing parents and guardians, he noted that the programme is designed to ease financial pressure and reinforce the message that their children’s future truly matters.
