Eligibility & Selection Criteria
- Applicants must possess a highly distinguished academic record. This typically translates to a cumulative GPA equivalent to a 1.7 or better on the German academic grading scale.
- The selection committee explicitly considers personal challenges. Exceptions to the strict 1.7 GPA rule are granted for refugees of conflict or students who have faced systemic/socio-economic disadvantages.
- Women pursuing STEM specializations are heavily prioritized during the review cycle to balance gender representation in AI engineering.
- Recipients are legally required to declare external earnings. If you hold a part-time job or supplementary grant while on the scholarship, your SECAI funding will be structurally reduced by any gross income amount that exceeds €603 EUR per month.
